Congressman Lou Barletta, has been a Trump loyalist since the early days of the primary campaign and now he is a frontrunner for Secretary of Transportation.
Barletta, a Republican from the 11th congressional district, is a member of Trump’s transition team and is now reportedly a frontrunner for secretary of Transportation.
Barletta, who sits on the House Homeland Security and Transportation committees, was an early Trump supporter who became a campaign surrogate and is now serving on the Trump transition team.
Barletta last year was instrumental in getting bipartisan consensus for a five-year transportation bill poised to improve infrastructure, which is a big plan for Trump’s honeymoon period. In December, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which was co-sponsored by Barletta.
Barletta, who a few weeks ago was re-elected for a fourth term, has also been an outspoken advocate of immigration reform and crackdown on illegal immigration.
