UC Berkeley Shells Out $800,000 For Safe Space, Funding For Undocumented Immigrants

The University of California at Berkeley is planning to spend $800,000 to support undocumented immigrants’ financial needs, the School Chancellor Carol Christ said Tuesday.

Fox News reported that the “Undocuation Plan” will help students enrolled in DACA by creating an undocumented student resource center, which is planning to open its doors in March.

Non-undocumented students are eligible for $1,500 in basic needs grants, with an additional $50,000 allocated for “special cases,” according to the Daily Californian.
