It was a moment the police officer was waiting for, probably for a long time.

As usual, Colin Kaepernick protested the National Anthem with some teammates. Then a police officer stood right behind them and saluted during the Anthem.

Kaepernick, who is actually the starting quarterback for the game against the Buffalo Bills, has been protesting the Anthem since August. In show of support, other players have been protesting as well.

One of the unintended consequences of the protests have been people boycotting the NFL games. A poll, that was conducted by Rasmussen Reports, showed at least 32% of those surveyed said they were less likely to watch an NFL game because of the large number protests during the National Anthem.

NFL viewership on the networks has been down ten percent. Because of the boycott, the four major NFL broadcast networks, who pay nearly $5 billion each year for broadcast rights, have started to return money to advertisers, according The Sporting News.
