Kyle Kashuv, Parkland shooting survivor, has had his admission to Harvard rescinded after racist comments made by him surfaced.  He took to Twitter to comment on the issue, and has attacked the school for, “deciding that someone can’t grow, especially after a life-altering event like the shooting.”

He spoke on his admission to Harvard, and his on the latter saying he would no longer be admitted for the 2020 school year.

Kashuv, who apologized last month for making the slurs roughly 2 years ago, posted a series of tweets on Monday calling Harvard’s decision “deeply disturbing.”

“Throughout its history, Harvard’s faculty has included slave owners, segregationists, bigots and antisemites,” he said. “If Harvard is suggesting that growth isn’t possible and that our past defines our future, then Harvard is an inherently racist institution. But I don’t believe that. I believe that institutions and people can grow.”

Tweet Thread:

The thread on Twitter made “Harvard” reach the #1 most tending topic on Twitter for June 17. At the time of this article’s publication, it remains at #1.

Conservative pundits took to Twitter, decrying Harvard’s decision.

“Harvard’s auto-da-fe sets up an insane, cruel standard no one can possibly meet,” tweeted Ben Shapiro.

NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch tweeted: “NEW RULE: Everyone will be retroactively adjudicated for their past childhood sins and made to pay the price now.”

Whether Harvard University made the correct call is up to one’s own interpretation. Kashuv, on the other hand, will be “exploring all options at the moment.”
