Turning Point USA chapter president at South Seattle College, Katie Daviscourt, was being followed Thursday night, April 11. Daviscourt was hiding in-between parked cars in a parking lot on campus when she frantically dialed 911.
The man who was allegedly following Daviscourt as she walked to her car has yet to be found.
Daviscourt claims that she recognized the man who was stalking her. She says that her and the man had an intense argument over TPUSA signage on campus.
The police are considering this stalking a “bias incident.”
According to Breitbart News, the man was circling Daviscourt with his SUV was driving recklessly when he struck another vehicle in the parking lot, causing him to run from the scene. Daviscourt says that this happened hours after the man attempted to confiscate and damage TPUSA signage.
“I was at our [TPUSA] recruiting booth when this man started vandalizing and then stealing our organization’s personal property,” said Daviscourt to Breitbart News, “I asked him to give us back our signs, he gave it back, and I thought that was the end of it, but he kept coming back [to the TPUSA booth] to yell at us some more.”
Daviscourt states that the arguing and confrontation did not stop once her tabling session was over. She says the man continued while she was walking to her car in the parking lot.
“When we left for the day, I didn’t know it, but he was waiting for me in his car,” said Daviscourt, “I could feel a car coming and I didn’t know it was him at first. It wasn’t until he passed me, and I realized it was the same guy from earlier. So I tried to get back to my car as fast as I could. Then, he tried again for a second time, I jumped out of the way and hid between cars.”
Daviscourt explained that she feared for her life in that moment, as she was sure the man would try to hit her with his car.
“When I was hiding between the cars, at this point, I thought he was trying to kill me,” said Daviscourt, “So I tried to get a picture of his license plate, and then I called 911.”
“His dangerous and erratic driving behavior caused him to crash into a vehicle that a young woman was driving,” continued Daviscourt, “He fled the scene swerving into oncoming traffic nearly hitting multiple vehicles and pedestrians.”
Breitbart News obtained the video surveillance footage of the parking lot from that night. The footage confirms that a black SUV appeared to be heading towards a pedestrian only to dart away and take a sharp turn through other parking spaces.
The SUV then circled around the aisle and parked near Daviscourt’s vehicle. It was then that the TPUSA activist sought shelter in-between cars.
The car remained in that location for some time, until the SUV pulled out and hit another vehicle. The driver then fled the scene, cutting other cars off on his way.
“He was staring at me the entire time he was driving and didn’t look at the road, which is why he was swerving everywhere,” said Daviscourt to Breitbart News.
Although this troubling incident made Daviscourt fearful and seem helpless, she says it will not stop her from advocating her beliefs:
“I started a Turning Point USA chapter at South Seattle College to try to bring together like minded conservatives such as myself in a part of the country where we are shunned and ostracized.”
“I will not let this situation stop me from advocating for my beliefs,” continued Daviscourt.
While campus police do not currently have anyone in custody, Daviscourt says they will be planning on making arrangements to escort her to and from class.
“Campus security responded to the incident immediately upon receiving a call to ensure the safety of our impacted student and offer support,” said a South Seattle College spokesperson to Breitbart News, “We are assisting the Seattle Police Department in their investigation and remain focused on providing full support to our student.”
