A few days ago, 15-year-old high school student, Purity Thomas, was peacefully protesting outside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. An angry woman approached and punched her in the face, causing Thomas to have a minor concussion. After being released from the hospital, Thomas said that she has completely forgiven the woman.
Purity Thomas: ‘I feel super sorry for her and I want her to know that we’re not violent, we actually care about her.’
It was a cold morning when Purity Thomas and other pro-life students were protesting outside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. Thomas said that she had just texted her parents to come pick her up when an angry woman approached them. Serena, A pro-life student from Liberty University, greeted the woman. “‘Good morning, we’re here for you, we’re praying for you,” Serena said. When Thomas told the woman that they were there to offer support and resources, the woman went berserk. She grabbed one of their signs and attempted to rip it apart. When that failed, she threatened the students and punched Thomas in the face, causing her to fall and get a minor concussion.
Thomas: “There’s no hard feelings towards her
The attack left Thomas with a renewed determination to continue to stand for life. Recognizing the worth of every person, Thomas said that she has completely forgiven her attacker. “I absolutely forgive (the assailant),” said Thomas. “There’s no hard feelings towards her,” according to Fox News. The incident has not shaken Thomas’s faith and she plans to continue her pro-life work outside of the Planned Parenthood clinic. Thomas explained that the pain she felt due to her concussion was nothing compared to the pain of being aborted in the womb. “Being punched was nothing compared to what those babies are feeling when they are aborted,” said Thomas. “And honestly, I would take a million punches if it saved one child.”
The woman was not arrested and since Thomas is unwilling to press charges, the woman will face no penalties. In addition, Thomas will not reveal the woman’s identity as she does not want the woman to receive any negative backlash for her actions. As the woman recently suffered from an abortion, Thomas hopes that she will heal and find peace.
