Tucker Carlson Clashes With Liberal Over New LGBT Acronym

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson clashed with Canada’s former Liberal Party President on Wednesday night over a new LGBT acronym, as reported by The Daily Caller.

Tucker Carlson & the Liberal Party

The conversation between Tucker Carlson and former Liberal Party President Stephen Ledrew centered around the LGBT community and inclusiveness. Moreover, Ledrew noted school teachers attending a function which happened to use the acronym LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP. LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP supposedly stands for Lesbian, Gay, Genderqueer, Bisexual, Demisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Two-spirit, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Allies, Pansexual and Polyamorous.

According to Ledrew, the extended acronym exists to make people who don’t identify as straight feel included in Canadian society. The former Liberal Party President also noted that many people are unaware of what the extended LGBT acronym means:

“Well, generally shortened to the LGBTQ, which is the community, and there’s a few extra ones they’ve added in there. But, no one goes by that. Maybe that’s to teach kids the alphabet or not, but generally it’s referred to, the Prime Minister referred to it yesterday in the House of Commons during his apology as ‘LGBTQ.’ Some people don’t know what it means. They know it means inclusiveness, it’s a good thing. It’s a question of tolerance.”

Carlson then responded by inquiring as to whether or not Ledrew believes the meanings of words and acronyms are important. He also questioned Ledrew about what would happen if someone in Canada decided to opt out of using the extensive acronym:

“That person would be dismissed as insensitive or bigoted or worse. Wouldn’t they,” asked Carlson.

Ledrew countered with the following:

“No, they wouldn’t. We’re not judgmental like that. So you’re saying, from an American point of view, that that person would be dismissed as bigoted. In Canada, they wouldn’t be. We’d say ‘OK, fine. That’s your opinion.’ I have a different opinion.”

Carlson then stated that Ledrew’s remarks were untrue, noting that Canadian citizens have faced prosecution for expressing unpopular viewpoints.

Feedback from the American People

Many American viewers were highly critical of the extended LGBT acronym, as expressed by various remarks in The Daily Caller’s comments section:

“Who gives a rip. Let sexual weirdos do what they want in their own homes and just shut the hell up. Gays won’t be happy until everyone else is gay.”

“Where’s the category for liberal sexual harassers and abusers from Hollywood, DC, and the MSM?”

“Just shorten it to “democrat!”
